Remove Vipre Business

From time to time, circumstances may require the removal of VIPRE without the assistance of the Windows Installer. Should an instance requiring this removal be encountered, the instructions below outline the process.
Ensure you have attempted to uninstall the Agent through Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features.
If this fails, run the following in an Elevated Command Prompt (Depending on the installed Version):

VIPRE, the antivirus program from Sunbelt Software, is a little bit tricky to uninstall. In the Windows XP control panel, “Add/Remove Programs”, or the Windows Vista/Windows 7 control panel, “Programs and Features”, the user is presented with options to re-configure VIPRE, not to uninstall it. The VIPRE Rescue Program is a command-line utility that will scan and clean an infected computer that is so infected that programs cannot be easily run. The VIPRE Rescue Program is packaged into a self-extracting executable file (.exe) that prompts the user for an 'unpack' or installation location, then starts the scanner and performs a deep scan. VIPRE Rescue is a handy, easy to use tool designed to clean your computer if you are already infected with a virus and your operating system is not working properly as a result of the infection. If you are already running VIPRE and a virus has disabled it, you can still run this program to clean your computer.

VIPRE Agent Install GUIDs by Version:
  • I'm running into an issue more and more with our Vipre Business Premium 5.0 Installation. What appears to be happening is when we change out a machine or one dies, the agents stay in the console. When we try to manually remove them from the catalog they wont budge. It didn't use to be this way but is getting worse and worse.
